Policy & Procedures

Refill Policy

Refill requests should be made during routine office hours Monday - Friday. Twenty-four hours notice is required for all refills. ADHD prescriptions must be picked up in person during the work week. For routine medications that need refill, often the pharmacy will fax the request to us.

Appointments

Appointments for acute illnesses and urgent conditions are available on a same day basis and will generally be scheduled with the first available provider. Saturday morning office hours are for acute illnesses only. Please call as early in the day as possible for your appointment. For the Winston Salem office call 765-9000 or our Kernersville office at 996-3001

Preventative Care

Your child needs periodic health exams (well child checks, or "check ups") to monitor growth, development and general health. At these visits, immunizations will be offered to protect your child from childhood diseases. We strongly encourage the immunization schedule by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Newborn Care

Our providers attend newborns at Forsyth Medical Center; we will visit you and the baby each day while you are in the hospital. Even if you deliver elsewhere, we will gladly accept your infant as a new patient. Generally the first office visit will be 2 to 3 days after hospital discharge.

Prior to your delivery, we encourage you to schedule a PRENATAL VISIT to meet one of our physicians. This visit usually lasts 15 to 20 minutes and is free of charge.

A baby care class is offered once a month in our Winston-Salem office; this is designed to give basic care information to first time parents. Please call our Winston Salem office at 765-9000 to make a reservation. Please look under Announcements and News to check dates and times of upcoming classes.
